CottonBabies +Giveaway

Cotton Babies is a wonderful site where you can find all your cloth diapering needs in one place. If you are new to the cloth diapering world , it can seem a little overwhelming. Which brands are the best? What inserts should I use in my babies diapers? Do I need Extra inserts? The questions are endless when you first start this journey. Cotton Babies makes it easy to see all the possibilities with cloth diapers, they share different brands, gear & accessories for all your cloth diapering needs.

When my son was first born 5 years ago I attempted to cloth diaper while we were at home but sadly I failed. I simply could not keep up with all the needs of cloth diapering, I was very uneducated in this realm of Natural Parenting & didn't know where to turn to see what we really needed to keep our journey going. I was paying upwards to $50 per diaper at the time & found I was quickly breaking my bank as I was trying to save money. I found that many of our diapers at the time did not hold up well to the peepee challenge & I would be out at the store with a nice wet shirt from holding my son when he had "leakage". We then discovered diaper covers that are designed to help prevent any leaks from cloth diapers. This added on to the bank breaking, only a few months into our journey I gave up.

Now here I am preparing for my 3rd baby who will be here in April 2015 & attempting our cloth diapering journey once again. After speaking to many other moms they pointed me to Cotton Babies, this site makes it so easy to see what you will need to be successful with cloth diapering. I was no longer overwhelmed when I bit the bullet & checked out the site, I finally found one place where I can purchase everything I need & be guided in the right direction to being our new journey. They offer a number of different brands such as bumGenius, SwaddleBees, Thirsties & more so you can easily find the brand that suits you & your baby for affordable prices. Cotton Babies makes it simple to find all the "extras" like diaper covers, inserts, cleaners, & even wet bags so you won't have to go searching the internet to see what you should buy to make cloth diapering a success.
Cotton Babies sent us the bumGenius 4.0 Stay Dry Pocket cloth diapers to test out , this brand is one of their top selling brands & is in very high demands. I am amazed on how thick the insets were on this cloth diaper, they certainly win in the department of leak preventage compared to brands we used in the past. As I prepare for the new baby who will be here in the next few weeks I have been washing all her clothing & diapers, I threw the bumGenius diaper in the washer machine & honestly I was a bit worried what the outcome would be. To my amazement our cloth diaper held up to the wash test, we had no pulling on threads, no color washout, it looked the same way going in as it did coming out. Since our first wash I have purchased 5 more diapers to get us started & will continue to buy from Cotton Babies

I quickly found that we can certainly cloth diaper without breaking our bank.

I chose to cloth diaper because I didn't like the idea of all the garbage (and literally throwing away money) that disposables would be. And it's great to never have to worry about running out of diapers!

Amber Collier said...

At first we chose to cloth diaper because we already had one in pull ups and wanted to save some money. I stopped buying pull ups and put our 2 year old in her little sisters cloth diapers. When her sister was born we started to use disposables for the first couple poops, but she broke out horribly. We switched to cloth with disposable wipes, and still had break outs. I stopped using disposable wipes and started using cloth wipes and no more rashes! Right after we started cloth with our two year old, she pretty much potty trained herself because she didn't want to get the "pretty" diapers dirty. So we had wanted to do it as a money saving thing, but ended up doing it as a saving baby butt and potty training thing. :)
